There is no need to pray for gifts from God.
God will give on His own accord what is good for any devotee.

Did not Sabari and Jataayu get the grace of Rama
even without their asking for it?

God will decide what to give, when to give and where.
Hence all actions should be dedicated to God and
He should decide what the devotee is fit to receive.

We speak of the sky and the ocean as being blue in color, but this is incorrect. Neither the sky nor the ocean are actually blue themselves. It is the vastness of space and the depth of the ocean that produces this illusion of blueness. If you take some seawater in your palm, you will see that it is actually colorless. Likewise, good and evil depend on our own thoughts and feelings.

In God's creation, everything happens in accordance with certain laws, which are infallible. The law of Karma, which extends its rule many lifetimes of a being, is responsible for such an apparent injustice in the world. A true devotee or a saint never questions his lot. Whatever happens in this life, he accepts with equanimity and with total faith in the Divine dispensation.

The moment you see your own inner beauty and are so filled with it that you forget all else, you become free from all bonds. You realize that you are all beauty, all the glory, all the power, all the magnificence of the universe, for the Jiva (the individual) is the reflection of God in the mirror of nature. Once you attain self realization, you can recognize everyone else as but the reflection of yourself. This is the true basis of the unity of mankind.
