CHAPTER IXThough purity of mind is the primary thing for the protection of society and the individual in the realm of the Divine, Varna organisation too is very important. It can never be blown off by ridicule, criticism or condemnation. For, welfare is essential for all; so rulers and scholars must give up feelings of anger and hatred and calmly delve into the pros and cons and bring the organisation into some good order. That is the thing to do. It is not proper that wise men and intelligent…Continue

The four Varnas are like the limbs of the same body. They have evolved out of the same Divine Body—the Brahmins from the face, the Kshatriyas from the hands, the Vaisyas from the thighs and the Sudras from the feet. Of course, these expressions have a deeper inner meaning. Those who teach like the Guru the principles of Jnana are the Voice. They are the Brahmins. The strong armed bear the burden of the Earth, they are the Kshatriyas. The social edifice is upheld, as on pillars, by the Vaisyas…Continue

the discussion between body, mind and soul has always been a subject for discussion for ages.My submission is not the negation of body and mind as these two are well understood by us than the soul. The yoga takes us step by step from the level of the body to the Athmic level.Bhagwan commences gita Vahini with the comment that the subject of GITA is for those who are THAGIS!Thagi in telugu means thirsty. One should be deeply involved in Spirtuality to understand Gita.No doubtis the most sought…Continue

If hatred increases, it will not benefit anyone. To pursue the ideal of “all are equal” is like running after the mirage to slake one’s thirst. It will only breed discontent. The rulers must now assemble and consult the representatives of the people, namely, the pundits and experienced elders and discuss the value of this ancient system of social organisation. Instead, if they just decide on the basis of external forms and features that there is some poison in this and run into panic, that will…Continue

अहमादिश्च मध्यं च भूतानामन्त एव च ॥ (Chap. 10, Verse 20)
I, O Gudakesha (Victor of Sleep, Sloth), am the Self, which abides within all beings. I am the beginning and middle and end of all beings.
This 'I' is the primordial 'I' that is the real nature of all beings. Who is in quest? Who is in quest of peace? Who is in quest for God? for all such questions, the common answer is "to me" then follows, who am I, i am not this body, because, this is my body and not 'I' and I am not the 5 senses, because, these are my senses.
Krishna meant in the same spirit as the following verses from Kena Upanishad.
Additionally, this Ekashloki of Shankara illustrates the Self of the Self clearly -
Kim Jyothis tava bhanumaan ahani me Ratrau pradeepadikam
Shyaad evam ravi deepa darshana vidhau Kim jyothiraakhyahi me
Chakshuh tasya nimeelanaadi samaya Kim dheeh dheeyo darshana kim
Tatra aham athah bhavaan Paramakam jyothih tadasmi prabho
Master : ‘By what light do you see?’
Disciple : ‘The sun by day, the lamp by night.’
M : ‘By what light do you see these lights?’
D : ‘The eye.’
M : ‘By what light do you see the eye?’
D : ‘The mind.’
M : ‘By what light do you know the mind?’
D : ‘My Self.’
M : ‘You then are the Light of Lights.’
D : ‘Yes, That I am.’
What ever we may be doing, what ever actions we may be engrossed in, even while engaged in spiritual activities, PUja, worship, Bhajan, we should never, even for the moment forget the performer, the real "I am" in the spirit of what has been revealed as above by the Sages. That Self, is pure, blemish-less, it is the eternal witness.
Always holding on to the Self, constantly in Smarana (listening), Manana (Reflection), NidhiDhyaasana(Abidance as Truth) is the purport of Human Birth

It is stated about Gita that even if one does not recite the entire Gita, it is sufficient if one sloka alone gets recited and the meaning thought of. Thatway an entire life time can be spent in contemplation of Gita.
When the atomic scientist viewed the explotion of an atom bomb in Hiroshima/Nagasaki he had recollected only Gita ...God is a million times more radiant than the Sun itself.......Could anyone tell where that sloka is in Gita ?
